Natural Selection is a sculpture composed of a polyester handkerchief draped over a bunch of bananas. The hankerchief was mechanically printed with a promotional image of Lex Barker as Tarzan, seated in a tree beside his chimpanzee chum, Cheeta. The sculpture was created for the exhibition Change Room at the Container in Tokyo, Japan. The veiled bananas, which are yellow at the opening of the exhibition, turn brown and dry up over time, and must be continually replaced by a new bunch of bananas.
