ARE YOU A BODY OR DO YOU HAVE A BODY?! is an image of a weight-lifting machine made with delicately cut surgical tape. Its first iteration was as a life-size installation, and its second iteration is a work on paper. The choice between “being” or “having” a body alludes to our reflexive capacity to be both object and subject and is intended to provoke a questioning of perceived divisions of mind and body in the viewer.
