Clean up your act! is a series of gay pornographic images made with bleach and iodine on paper. As depicted in the adjacent pairs of images, the iodine will fade away and the bleach will corrode through the paper over time. The source material is from gay pornography from the 1970’s, before the onset of HIV/AIDS. The series is a ghostly memorial to sickness and loss, and an awkward collision of gay rights, normalization and the sterilization of sex.
